snorkel, sail, fish, swim at a waterfall or just enjoy life on the ocean wave. This is a unique way to visit Tobago and will leave you with vacation memories to treasure forever. Join us and sail the
crystal clear waters around Tobago away from the stress of life! Circumnavigate Tobago on a five day cruise.
PICANTE offers two kingsize ensuite guest cabins, complete with WC and sink.
There is a deck shower on the platform. The cockpit is permanently shaded with a hardtop bimini. There are two trampolines at the front where you can
sunbathe, catch glimpses of dolphins, take in Tobago ́s stunning coast line or star gaze at night.
Day 1:
This trip of a lifetime starts in PICANTE's home anchorage of Store Bay. We can pick you up at your hotel and once you have checked in - you will be given a safety briefing along with a welcome
drink.
Then it is time to sail up Tobago ́s Caribbean Sea coast to the sleeping fishing village Castara. Along the way you could try your hand at fishing. Once the anchor is dropped you can snorkel around
the boat, kayak around the bay or just relax in the shade.
A short walk from the beach is the Castara waterfall, right on the edge of Tobago ́s rainforest. Take a refreshing swim in the fresh pool water.
A sumptous dinner will be served onboard, it might include catch of the day if you ́ve been
lucky!
Day
2:
After a buffet style breakfast which will include fresh, local fruits, we pick up anchor and sail back down the coast to the secluded
Cotton Bay. This stretch of the coastline is only accessible by boat so you can pretend to be Robinson Crusoe or Girl Friday for a few hours. Snorkel the bay where there is every chance you will meet
new aquatic friends like
rays.
After a light lunch it will be a
two and-a-half to three
hour sail to Englishman's
Bay.
Famed throughout
the
Caribbean,
Englishman's Bay is
the perfect place to anchor overnight. Tobago's rainforest comes right to the edge of a picturesque, sandy, crescent moon beach. It is likely you will have the bay to yourself
overnight.
The rainforest's
birds can be heard calling to each other and overhead brown pelicans and magnificent frigates circle. As you are so close to the rainforest it is likely that you will experience nature's own shower -
a tropical rain
shower.
The snorkelling
here is excellent. Swim with a swarm of brightly coloured tropical fish. Dinner will be a BBQ on the back of PICANTE with the choice of
freshly
caught fish, chicken, steaks and a range of fresh salads and
vegetables.
Day 3:
After breakfast we will sail up the coast past The Sisters Rocks where we often encounter Tobago's dolphins. They love to ride the waves beside PICANTE. Lie on the trampolines and experience the
magic of these amazing creatures as they follow us on our journey.
A further four hour sail from here will take us to the idyllic, quaint fishing village of Charlottesville.
The overnight anchorage is Pirate ́s Bay, rated as one of the ten best anchorages in the Caribbean. Here you can climb the steps at the bottom of the bay to take in the stunning views or snorkel
around the coral heads.
Scuba diving can be arranged for those wanting to experience Tobago ́s underwater world - you may even come face to face with hawksbill turtle.
Dinner is ashore at Sharon an Phoebe ́s, a Charlottesville institution, famed for its
delicious local food. Enjoy truly local Tobagonian cuisine before sampling refreshing sundowners at local “old time” bars. If you want a truly romantic experience why not take a bottle and head to
the beach, where you can listen to the waves lapping against the shore and watch the moonlight dance over the water.
By now you will have got your sea legs. After breakfast PICANTE will sail four hours around Tobago's most northerly point, the St Giles Islands. This is an adventurous sail. It takes you close to
one of the most important seabird breeding colonies in the southern West Indies. The island host breeding colonies of magnificent Frigate Birds and Red-footed Boobies as well as Audubon ́s
Shearwaters and Brown Boobie.
Past St. Giles Islands, PICANTE will head into Anse Bateau at Speyside. The anchorage for the night will be just in front of the Blue Waters Inn, with views of Little Tobago and Goat Island, once the
holiday home of James Bond creator Ian Fleming.
You can either snorkel or come ashore and explore Speyside. There are reamins of an old sugar mill on the ten minute walk from Blue Waters Inn into Speyside. You can sample local fare at the famous
Jemma ́s Seaview Kitchen Treehouse.
If you want to relax then why not lay in one of PICANTE's hammocks under the trampoline where you can enjoy a cold beer or read a book. Dinner will be on board.
